Flood Relief for 1500 people in Assam

Assam faces devastating floods every year. Owing to incessant rains, nearly 145 villages were underwater and 3,435 hectares of crops have been damaged.
ICCo, with support from Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) provided relief material to the flood victims in Morigoan and Majuli districts of Assam. The focus of the interventions was on providingthe victims with hygiene and sanitation; build up the confidence of the flood-ravaged communities; and also coordinate with the local authorities to ensure that the flood related problems are minimised.
ICCo is already working in these two districts on capacity building and skilling of local artisans and is well versed with the local community and administration.
ICCo worked in close collaboration with local institutions like panchayats, women’s group and local administration to ensure smooth distribution of the relief material.

The total beneficiary reached out were 1500. This included 768 and 732 households in Majuli and Morigaon respectively.
