ICCo participated in North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi ) Haat’s “North East Start- Up and Craft Fair” in Rupnagar, Guwahati from 9th to 13th Aug, 2019.
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Inder Jit Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North East Region (DoNER).
NEDFi Haat is a prestigious platform created for the unorganized sector to promote marketing of the products of the unorganised sector. It is now a popular exhibition ground among the craftsmen and weavers associated with the indigenous handloom and handicraft sector providing direct linkage between consumer and producer. Government Agencies like DRDA, NEHHDC, NSIC, SIFT etc prefer the platform to organise their fairs to promote the marketing of their beneficiaries. NGOs working to promote the Cottage and Small sector of the region also use the facility for providing direct linkage between the producers and consumers.
Various entrepreneurs from Jorhat, Guwahati, Barpeta, Soygaon, Goalpara, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur supported and promoted by ICCo participated in the event. ICCo had two stalls, first one focussing on Agricultural food products including biopesticides, the other one was on Handicraft products like Arecana leaf plates which is a biodegrable product, home décor items, mizo traditional and western dresses, assamese traditional dresses, Mekhela Chador among others.
