Sayan works in the area of Agriculture Value Chain & Skills. He is a development professional with more than a decade’s experience in livelihood development projects. Before joining ICCo, he has worked with several top organizations such asIndian Grameen Services (IGS-BASIX) as Assistant Vice President leading the farm-based livelihood area. He was also responsible for FPO-promotion programmes nationally for IGS which helped him experiment with market and institutions across India. His area of specialization is value chain analysis, inclusive business development, Market for Poor approach for both (farm and non-farm sectors) and enterprise promotion. Sayan holds a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics from Bidhan Chandra KrishiViswavidyalaya, West Bengal. He has also contributed in several publications of national and international repute, including a book on ‘Betel Leaf Cultivation-A Potential Crop for Sustainable Income’.
